Yay, It is finally travel day! I just woke up at my usual 6AM but with the kind of smile that I would like to be wearing every day. These first feelings reminding me of how I may have felt waking up as a child on my 5th birthday – old enough to know what I want and to invite friends to the party, yet young enough to have pure joy, excitement and energy anticipating the day ahead. On this early Thursday morning, I feel like that kid. This feeling alone is all that is needed to let me know that I am beginning something special and “right”. Do you know what I mean? When you don’t have any nagging feelings or doubts. When you can just “be” who you are in the moment – a feeling that is sometimes hard to come by when you are being a “responsible” adult all the time. That’s how I feel right now. I do truly wish this feeling for all of you who are reading this post! Why not?
Anyway today is the day we are leaving Bosque base camp. That’s what I call our current home in Boulder; purchased as an easy to pack-and-go kind of home. This is our first time doing a large trip since moving here. Hopefully the first of many. Erin will be wo-manning the homestead. Overall the final day before the trip was meant to be somewhat calm but we have had a few challenges this week and a computer hacker led me through a detour for a couple of hours (but that’s all gone from my mind and my computer now) Deep breathing and Kaylie’s famous 20 second hugs helped me refocus on the joy and excitement of the adventures to come.
Just a couple of hours until we get a bus to the airport and head to London to see Chris, Jon, Adam and Louis! Heading out on Norwegian air direct from DIA to Gatwick and it cost us $1095 round trip for both of us. Cheapest flights ever. Hope this sparks your interest in finding your own adventure. Here we go…
